CIMG2999.JPGWow, Cathy’s wedding was a lot of fun! Her sister made the bride’s maid dresses and they turned out great; the whole thing had a very autumnal feel which was so refreshing for a wedding. Her new husband, Jarrett, is a guitarist in a bluegrass group and, while I don’t like modern or pop country music, bluegrass is AWESOME! And these guys are great, so it was just a lot of fun to hear ‘em singing and people dancing, whoopin’ and a’hollerin’. And seeing the Welch’s was too much fun. Man, that’s a terrific family.

Turns out that DC to Nasvhille takes approximately 10h 40m each way going about the speed limit the whole way. It was a tough drive — I took first shift each way and was relieved about about 5 hours. It’s nice enough… very green in a way that I would expect in swamp lands. Maybe TN is swampy, I have no idea. It stormed about the last 1/4 of the way there and rained pretty well all the way back to DC. I couldn’t believe it, but there was a big rig driver who fell asleep right in front of me and almost hit another rig as he crossed a lane of traffic and drove his truck w/ trailer right into a ditch. It was kinda scary because I had just decided to not pass him and I would have been up to the cab by the time he swerved… I’m thankful for the mental capacity to have made the right decision when it mattered.
